The Great Western Deck and Fence Company is a privately owned construction company located in Denver, Colorado. Our company has been designing, and building high quality decks, fences, pergolas, and other outdoor structures for more than twenty five years.
Quality craftsmanship is our primary driving motivation. We have in place, numerous policies and procedures to ensure complete customer satisfaction from the ground up, and for many years after the completion of the project.
Our deck footings are larger diameter than the legal minimum, and they also have steel reinforcement incorporated within. We know of no other company that constructs their footings with the same degree of concern for strength and longevity.
Simpson is one of the largest suppliers of structural building products in the world. We use only Simpson brand, ZMAX® grade, connectors. ZMAX® is a thicker coating than the standard hot-dip galvanized coating. Due to this increased galvanized thickness, these connectors have a longer service life than standard galvanized connectors. These are the best connectors currently available, so we use them exclusively.
We use stainless steel fasteners to secure deck boards to the framing, many companies simply use galvanized, coated, or painted fasteners. Stainless steel is impervious to the corrosion that pressure treated wood causes in deck fasteners. Stainless is the best material for the job so we use it.
Number one grade, southern yellow pine is the only grade and type of lumber we use for the framing of our decks. Each individual piece of framing material we use is closely scrutinized, and must meet our exceptional standards; we do not simply install each piece of lumber that is delivered to our work site. If a board fails to meet our meticulous standards, it is rejected. Only excellent, straight, trouble free boards are used in the construction of our projects. We have been known to return as much as half of the framing lumber that is delivered to us. We know of no other deck company that has such a rigorous quality control measure in place. A great number of deck companies use number two grade lumber, and some do not even use pressure treated lumber! Each of our projects is constructed with the same care and concern as if we were building it for ourselves.
